Experience
I began tutoring others when I was in elementary school. I took Trig/Pre-calc in high school. I tested into Statistics in college and never had to take another math class again. I took and excelled at English, Speech, Argumentation and Debate and was on the Forensics team in junior college. I also worked with kids during college in an after school program. It was the coolest job I have ever had. We played games, watched movies, did homework and other activities. For a few years I was a substitute teacher for Chino Valley School District. I subbed for grades 1-12. It was a very sweet position and most of my experience was extremely pleasant. This experience helped me understand, from an adult's perspective, the different types of students that exist and what works best for their educational needs. In law school, I vamped up my writing skills and also began editing papers for other grad students in different fields. I spent a few years teaching as a paralegal instructor at a college. I really enjoyed my time with my students. I love seeing the lightbulb go on. I was a very strict but fair teacher and most of my students excelled beyond their own belief. I had to leave that job because I moved too far for the commute. Now, I have a small legal practice and work from home. I also volunteer at the Legal Aid Society of Orange County.
